After a joyful start to our event from local band 'La Tuna Universitaria de Maastricht', who will begin playing at 15:55 as participants gather in the auditorium, the 50th FEBS Congress will officially get under way with three welcome addresses: from Prof. Miguel A. De la Rosa, FEBS Secretary General, from Prof. Graça Soveral, FEBS Congress Counsellor, and from Prof. Luc Brunsveld, Congress Chair & Prof. Jan-Willem Borst, Congress Co-Chair. The opening session will conclude with presentations of the prestigious FEBS Diplôme d'Honneur and the FEBS Israel Pecht Award.
