Founded in 1948, the Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (KSBMB) is the oldest and most prestigious academic organization in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology in South Korea. As the largest bioscience society in the nation with over 20,000 members, KSBMB plays a pivotal role in advancing scientific research, fostering technological innovation, and promoting human health.
The society hosts an annual international conference, various specialized symposia, and publishes two SCIE journals: Experimental & Molecular Medicine (5-year Journal Impact Factor 14.2) and BMB Reports (5-year Journal Impact Factor 3.5), contributing to the advancement of the global life science community. Over the years, KSBMB has successfully organized numerous international conferences and scientific events, bringing together leading researchers from around the world and fostering global collaboration in the life sciences.
Building on this experience and its longstanding commitment to the vision of IUBMB, KSBMB is honored to be preparing a bid for the IUBMB/FAOBMB Congress 2033 in Busan, Korea. Through this effort, KSBMB seeks to further contribute to IUBMB’s mission of advancing biochemistry and molecular biology through international collaboration, scientific excellence, and global engagement.
